This is similar to the clause Phaneuf had on his contract, and we know that he had protection from the expansion draft.
Unless CapFriendly is incorrect, Lucic will either be required to be protected in the expansion draft, or he will need to waive the NMC to be exposed.

Doesn't something happen with NMC and NTC clauses when a player is traded though? I seem to remember reading something about that in the past, but I can't recall what or under what circumstances. Very helpful, I know.
EDIT: Here's what I was thinking of:
That this addendum might not have been signed is going to help me sleep tonight. Also, it sounds like the Flames could also void the modified NTC clause as it is not yet in effect.
