This is the only reason...
AA has been a good soldier, and was consistent. He PK'd, he was the screener on the PP, he played up and down the lineup, he was a stable pony for Panarin.
This 'Hawk fan appreciated what he brought, and his good attitude, even when jacked around.
His only weakness was in the FO dot.
But, Chicago wanted to get out of that $4.5M #2 Center contract, and have loaded on other options at C. AA's NTC expired on 7/1, so he was the most likely veteran to be dealt.
Not impressed by Smith, and expect him to be moved near the deadline.
