But Brodie was the only defender that could close the gap and defend rushes by the likes of Mcdavid and Mckinnon. Everyone else had to play the angles and give them space so they wouldn't blow passed them. Brodie was quite effective against Mcdavid especially of closing the gap and angling him to the corners.

This is why I'm glad they have held on to Kylington. He is by far the best skater on the blueline. I just don't know how he fits in.
