Wow.

That has to be the worst take on offer sheets I've ever read.

A team signing an offer sheet has done nothing that should require anycost other than what is in the contract. They are bound by its terms, because that is what they agreed to. And no one is forcing the other team into any contract - they have the option not to match if they don't agree to the terms.

Moreover, I don't think I have ever heard anyone suggest that we need fewer offer sheets, as if disincentivizing anything interesting from happening is a good idea.

The player is a FREE AGENT. He can sign with whoever he likes. Anyone should be free to sign him. That is what free agency means. Any GM who is "angry" about this process is simply a moron.
