I've got this bad feeling that things went incredibly well last year for so many flames players, no major injuries, but that there's bound to be a regression to more career average years.

I think having no trade deadline acquisition didn't help stimulate any kind of fire in the team for the playoffs, so they're crap play just continued on into the playoffs.

Going in with basically the same same team next season, feels like more of the same.

Last year felt like the absolute premium output this group can muster, banking on all out career years feels like a highly oiler'ish thing to do.

Flames needed an upgrade to the second line, needed some nastiness, and someone that could fit capwise. Flames also havr an asset that needs to be moved. Kadri was PERFECT and the leafs were prime trading partners. I honestly can't think of another attainable player that could improve the flames in the exact areas they needed to get better.

It burns even more to know the frigin avs, that made a mockery of this conference winning team picked up kadri. Easily a sweep if the series were played again now.

A lot of teams did things to try to improve today, and not that it stems from the lack of trying, but the flames are no better and clearly struck out in moving key pieces in/out so far this offseason.
