After Kadri messed up in crunch time in two consecutive playoff years, it really appears the Leafs were shopping him as the odd man out. Definitely looks like Dubas is doubling down on skill, speed and offense as the way forward and Kadri was expendable. I don't know if this is a right move or wrong one, but the Leafs were top heavy on offense so in that regard sacrificing a forward for a dman was a good move. Where I don't know if it's a right move is to go with more flight at the expense of possibly their only true gritty forward. If you look at their main competition, they're basically saying they're hoping their torrid pace will outdo Boston's grinding game. They need to replace Kadri with a skilled grinder on the bottom six now.
