I think we should be really pleased. We can't afford to go put and get a bona fide #1, but i feel that the flames got the best potential breakout goalie on the market. He's been a damn good goalie for much of his career who is getting notoriety due to his time with the oilers.
Look up the last decade of oilers goalies folks. Given the weight that org puts on defence personnel and systems, no goalie has succeeded there.
I think he could really thrive playing behind a good hockey team, and one that did well to limit high scoring chances for muvh of the year.
I am excited to see Rittich and talbot battle and compete for starter status.
It's hilarious that the oilers are giving smith, who was hot trash outside of a week stretch here and there last season roughly the same dough we got talbot for.
