He's not wrong. Trouba had one team in mind and he forced his way there. If the worst fears about JG are confirmed, you don't wait until he's 1 year away from UFA to trade him, that's when his 5 team NTC kicks in. If Calgary waits until he is 1 year from UFA, the returns will be extremely diminished.
