Alright so here's the feedback from three of the top QMJHL media guys in the Maritimes:
Contact #1: Says he's an outstanding person and player. I like that they lead with person first. That's a really good sign, long-term you need someone with the right personality and that fits the right culture. According to this contact he is one of the most complete players he's seen since covering the Q (I'm ballparking 10+ years of coverage). Continued to say that his compete level and character level is elite (his character is something that will keep coming up with others).
Contact #2: Says that Pelletier could handle the puck better than most 18/19 year olds in the Q. He's got a great shot but they're more impressed with his passing, he can always seem to find sticks and make the pass. Don't let his size fool you, he plays bigger than his size. He may never throw a big hit, but he's responsible in his own end and creates turnovers. Compared Pelletier to Marchand without him being a jerk. Said that these characteristics were why he was drafted and (at the time of the text message) Lavoie was not.
Contact #3: Points out that Pelleiter is small but a very complete player. He has a superb attitude, works his ass off, and has the ability to use his lack of size to his advantage.
Each of those guys has forgotten more about the QMJHL than I'll ever know. I trust them implicitly and would take a bullet for 2 (don't know the 3rd *that* well, haha).
