It’s the perfect example of not judging team performance on an individual player.
I’ll be honest and when the Blues were last place in December/January I really questioned O’Reilly as a player.
Seemed like he was poison. He was on his third team, and with him on the roster all the teams were just horrible, and he didn't seem to actively improve his teams at all. At the time the Sabres has just ended their long winning streak too and it looked like they didn’t miss O’Reilly at all.
Now just 6 months later he’s the Conn Smythe winner on a cup winning team.
Good reminder that good players are good players - and don’t let teams performance cloud the judgement.
