Really makes the league come off as crooked. Vegas was always a stupid place to put a team because of the shady extracurricular things that would go on. But, money.
If the league wants to be seen as one of dignity and integrity across the board either acknowledge every egregious error or never at all. There's no standard or consistency in anything they've done this season. I also believe those refs were sent home after that which doesn't help the optics.
The NBA just has a way more fun vibe around it these days. The NHL needs to do some things to appease it's fans to get its product back to being fun, including being overall more transparent and bringing more common sense into its review processes.
