Yeah, before opening the link I guessed that this one was on the list: high-traffic location that people use as a shortcut between major roads; commercial road with no residential, no school; lots of visual clutter so you're more likely to miss the sign; if you don't notice the signs, it's not even obvious you're driving past a playground until you're halfway through the zone, with the community center hiding it from the road.
I kinda think it's an unnecessary one, kids aren't going to be playing on that side of the park or crossing that street, except to get to the LRT, which is already really well-marked. But I can also see the community having a reason to keep it there just to slow down people speeding through the neighbourhood, but one of those flashing 'your speed' signs would be better for those purposes.
