How I would gauge Leason is to look at the last World Juniors where he played along with other prospects who are the same age as him. Although it was an extremely short sample size, I thought he was one of Canada’s best players in the same age category. He played in all situations, had decent speed for a big man, and was able to put up points.
Even though he was passed up the last couple of drafts, his improvement from last year to this year has been massive and I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing the Flames pick him up. And there would be a chance he would be available with an early second round pick, so we could potentially move back a few spots to gain another pick all the while getting a promising player.
