That's the point. It's not that these guys suck or aren't contributors to the team, more that you can get a good return for them whichever way that looks.
The boxes Treliving has to tick off this season to keep the team under the cap and flexible is a long one. Some pretty substantial holes to fill with not a lot of cap to do so.
Defensive depth at the NHL level is deep as hell, Brodie seems to be the odd man out on a few levels.
Frolik was already on the way out at the deadline so it's logical to assume he's still on the way out.
As for what they bring in? Speed, and lots of it.
