Very. They have the longest contract in F1 I think. Goes until 2029. And they’re in the middle of construction on new pit buildings and hospitality suites (and since it’s mob controlled Montreal I do literally mean in the middle of...and the race is 3 weeks away).
It’s also a fan favourite, drivers like it (track and the city) and it gets great ratings in Europe because it’s on during primetime. I believe it actually has the F1 record for highest tv ratings in the sports history.
Very few street races get the advantage of a great track and being in a major metro city. Most are out in the boonies which require camping, driving but dealing with awful traffic or taking a shuttle that is super expensive (COTA, Monza, Silverstone) or are not great race tracks if in the city (Singapore, Monaco). Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a 10 minute metro ride from downtown Montreal. Hard to beat that.
