The crash last week did quite the number on my face. Now that I have my bike back and comparing the damage to it with the damage to my helmet- it looks like I landed forehead first. The ER doctor said repeatedly as he was sticking my face that he was glad we did the full CT scan- he wouldn’t have believed the X-rays that my cheek bone wasn’t broken.
In part full face is for the protection, but also to give me some confidence to start riding again once I heal.
Alternatively I was thinking about getting good eye protection like this:
