Why not try and start next year with the following Top 6:
Tkachuk-Lindholm-???
Gaudreau-Monahan-Dzingel (4-5 mil?)
Bennett-Backlund-Mangiapane
Dube-Ryan-Neal/Hathaway
The Flames can then try to land a top line player with a package of: Brodie+Jankowski+Kylington+1st Round 2020
Maybe they can get Hall for that package? Huberdeau? Zibanejad? Or sign another Free Agent and trade Brodie, Jankowski, Frolik, Neal separately if possible.

I don't think Dzingel is worth it. Sure, he's young, but I would rather us try and see if Neal can find his game again. I know that we are all pretty much writing him off (myself included), but I think he needs a stretch of games in the top 6 in order for him to be effective. My hope is that we have a Gaudreau - Lindholm - Neal line, Gaudreau with the speed, Lindholm with the 2-way play, and Neal with the scoring ability. Surely Neal can't be worse than what he did with this year's shooting %.
And for the names you've listed:
Hall - Wait it out on him. He's a UFA next summer and I think he would strongly consider Calgary. Some salary would have to be moved, but Frolik and Stone are coming off of the books, giving us a good chance to snag him. Would allow us to move Tkachuk on the RW and have Gaudreau/Hall as the top 6 LW's.
Huberdeau - I really would like him on the team, and if Florida was willing to take Brodie + 2019 1st + something else for the guy, sign me up. Huberdeau is super underrated around the hockey world and just put up a 90+ season.
Zibanejad - Good player, but same position as Monahan. Is the 1C because he has to be and there's no one on the team better than him. The Rangers would want Andersson++, Dube, or some other quality piece from us that I'd rather not spend. Lindholm slotting as C would probably be the best and cheaper option for the Flames.
It'll be interesting on what Treliving does during the draft... Because I truly think that we will not be picking #26 with what I feel he has going up his sleeve. I firmly believe that with the strong rumors of Lindholm moving back to C makes me believe that we are looking for a big shakeup in the top 6 with a player most likely coming to us and the 26th OA+ player + prospect/pick going the other direction.
