He is a guy that could be deployed more, but you are correct in that his defense isn't that good... but iirc neither was Comeau's when he was here...

a guy like Hinze for example has made a huge impact for Dallas... and he was just a 2nd round pick. Same with Foegele for Carolina 3rd round)... both excellent skaters and guys that have some skill but can be hard on the puck and because of their skating and size they have had big impacts for both Dallas and Carolina
Hinze is 6'3" and 190. Czarnik is 5'9" 160. I'm not all about size, but it can be a limiting factor, especially when you don't have elite skill like a Gaudreau or Fleury.

Czarnik can be a gritty and hard forechecker when he chooses, but it's never been consistent.

As far as the draft goes, I think at that position it's pretty much BPA.
