I would expect that if you looked at the Canadian Forces you would probably find people that aspire to the same thing, same with any military in the world.
Frankly you could look at the US Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts of America, Mary Kay Cosmetics, the Police, FBI, of the German Sheppard Breeders club and looked hard enough you could find a small group of people that are racist, members of undesirable groups etc.
If the article showed proof of a growing movement, ie last year they successfully grew their ranks in the military by 100 people, I would say that's different.
Look you have a organization that recruits and probably attracts more often or not poor white kids from the South, you're going to scoop up your share of people that are from racist organizations.
I'm not saying that the article is much to do about nothing, its not however at the same time a site called the World Socialist Website sensationalizing a investigation that exposed a small number of people while throwing in flowery rhetoric about the imperialist American Army and Gestapo border guards shouldn't be surprising.

It’s troubling to find factions like this in the military, but I would bet that it’s just as troubling, or more so, the ratio of people in the general population that holds similar beliefs.
The military is just another subsection of society as a whole. It’s probably representative of society at the very least. Their biz is just out in the open and ready for people to jump on. I hope they do more to stamp this sort of stuff out though, so it’s good that it is being exposed.
