Regarding Tony and time travel, I got the sense he’d been secretly working on it even though he was “retired”. Based on some of the things he knew about the problems and how they showed him sort of picking up where he left off after being approached by the other Avengers.
Maybe they could have fleshed that out a bit more but that’s what I got out of it.
