I grew up a big fan of Marvel comic books, thought it was great when they started making high quality movies out of them and have enjoyed most movies in the MCU, but this really felt like jumping the shark. Didn't enjoy this one at all. It was all fan service and felt way overdone. Actually, the female avengers, if that's what people are calling that, was actually one of the parts most true to the spirit of the genre in my mind, because it was about showing an ideal to inspire people to imagine a better version of themselves. To me, that's central to what comics are about. The rest of the movie felt like it was missing that. It felt like very generic Hollywood action movie just using characters that are well known and loved. For some reason I feel most reminded of Last Action Hero and Armageddon when I think of this movie. It's like a mash up of those two with the MCU and Time Cop. Happy for people who enjoyed it, but not worth three hours to me.
