Looking at inaugural week attendance is a fool's errand. For example, and as a cautionary tale, the inaugural game of the Canadian Baseball League, in London, was a complete sell-out at around 5100. (Calgary drew 1700 to our opener.) By the time the league folded - three months later - only Calgary and Victoria averaged over 1000 fans.
Fortunately, the CPL appears to have a dramatically stronger base of support. Though, like the CBL, they completely muffed the eighth team.
