A bit unfair to Peters. Look at how our three pairs fared in game 5 in terms of CF%
Gio-Brodie - 76%
Hanifin-Hamonic -25.9%
Valimaki-Andersson - 61.9%
The tactical adjustments WERE made by game 5. What he couldn't do was
- get his second pair to start
executing those adjustments the way his first and third pair had.
- get one more strong game out of Smith. Smith failed to make any big saves in game 5 whether on the PK or ES. It was probably too much to ask a 37 year old to play five tough games in nine nights but he had little choice
- get Gaudreau to finish just one grade A chance, even on a penalty shot and two breakaways
