He's not slow because if his weight.
Jesus, what is happening in this thread?
He's slow because skating is largely a biomechanical ceiling, he's had two offseason hernia surgeries and probably many other lower body injuries up to this point in his pro career that we will probat never hear about.
He said he was healthy because he will always say that, he doesn't owe fans in media or anyone else information about his body and the boring Monahan moniker exists for a reason. He's just not going to give you anything, especially not excuses. FYI, the team is ALSO going to lie about his condition because again they don't owe anyone anything.
Why was he in the lineup? Because Monahan at 30% is a ####load better than playing Ryan or jankowski the 19 minutes per night that Monahan routinely plays.
This is the same club that played him right through the aforementioned surgeries without appearing to give it much thought. If he can play, he plays.
Haven't you guys been around human beings before?
Give him an off-season where he can walk properly the entire time and he likely improves on his speed by October. He won't be MacKinnon but he probably won't look as bad as he did in the latter part of last season or into this one.
My mind is boggled by the last page of this thread.
