To be clear there is only ONE scenario in which I could see Smith return: that would be on a one-year contract at an insignificant cap hit, and playing spot-duty in <30 games. I don't think it is likely he is back, and I would prefer another option, but I also think that there is a situation in which Smith and the Flames can be successful together.
