Game 4 takes place at home tonight. Win or lose tonight, the Mavericks will play back to back with another home game tomorrow. They have the opportunity to finish the series in the next two games by winning the next two nights. Mason McDonald has been key for the Mavericks and has a 2.86 GAA going into game four with a .922 save percentage.
Tulsa picks up a handful of penalties in the first period and KC makes it hurt. Mark Cooper gets his third goal of the series and the first of the night just mere seconds into a power play and the Mavericks hold that lead to go into the second period.
The top line of Durocher, Cooper and VanWormer absolutely dominated this period. However, Perfetto of the Oilers found a way to get around the defence and scores on the breakaway. Beating McDonald on his blocker side. The game does not stay tied for long when Rocco Carzo attacks and rebound and buries it. The Mavericks lead 20-13 in shots after two periods of play and lead 2-1 on the scoreboard.
Tulsa crawls back once again. They have proved in this series how they are not a team that shuts down and that is likely how they clinched the mountain division. No team can feel comfortable with a goal lead. Especially in the playoffs. Jared Thomas gets one past McDonald in the opening five minutes of the third and this game gets tied up at 2. This game takes a turn in the last five minutes when Adam Pleskach scores the go ahead goal. In the last two minutes, John-Scott Dickson calls McDonald to the bench and Tulsa scores on the empty net. Mark Cooper with 1:01 left to go in regulation gets a goal back but it is not quite enough. Mavericks fall in game 4, 4-3 and Tulsa ties the series 2-2.
