Backlund and Tkachuk were on ice for every goal against in game two. Their inability to hold their heads above water in that game is one of the biggest reasons we're down 3-1 instead of tied 2-2.
In fact, Backlunds been a minus player in every game, and is yet to score a point 5v5. If you absolutely must single out a guy who has most obviously failed at holding his own in this series, it's Backlund. Not because he's been the worst, but because he's been most obviously overwhelmed.
Despite all the criticism, Monahan is actually tied 5v5, and with his powerplay points is one of the few forwards who has been on ice for more goals for than against. (That list goes Monahan, Bennett and Mangiapane-Ryan-Hathaway.)
