I was chatting with my buddy the other day about the difference between goal scorers and playmakers.
Playmakers are very visible - you see the play they are making. You can easily see the skill - the passing, the vision, the edgework that goes into the playmaking because they do it with the puck.
For a goal scorer, all you see is the goal and the hands. You don't see the vision and hockey sense that goes into being at the right place at the right time. The edges that help with deception. How they beat defensemen. They know what to do without the puck to be in the right place and the right time.
People underestimate how important monahan and lindholm are for Johnny. The only other players with comparable abilities on the roster is tkachuk and backlund. IMO Bennett is getting there, but he isn't there yet.
