The onus should be on the parents, I completely agree, which is why this would not be given to my kids, or at least not have the internet hooked up.
Kids are curious and should be curious. You want them to explore and learn a lot by exploring, but only when you know exactly what they are getting into.
I'm not a guy who is up on my high horse or a prude and I'm being a complete hypocrite here; porn on the internet is not a problem because you have to make some attempt to seek it out.
For people/companies who run sites to set-up things that are Wii friendly and such though seems to be crossing the line. Nintendo is a kids toy, and while I know that you can't protect kids from everything you have to at least make the attempt.
