As a province, I would say that we are certainly better off that the UCP won, Our province needs a more aggressive approach. Sometimes displaying anger and being the squeaky wheel gets things going your way politically, the success of a poor province like Quebec is a prime example. Certainly there are things Alberta can do to shake things up and make things very uncomfortable for Canada.
That being said, I tend to agree with some of Jen Gerson's articles that we have to be cynical about politics, i like to see a strong opposition in the form of Ceci and a decent number of NDP MLAs in the house. The NDP has never been good at governing but they have always been a great opposition party. They were not able to wield the tools of power effectively. They are fundamentally a protest party.
As long as they do not work with foreign interests or publicly trash Alberta as part of their strategy I am ok with Ceci and some of the others being elected.
