So the answer to my question is no, you don't know what their concerns actually are.
Does the identity of their supporters invalidate the merits of their concerns? The 2nd highest court in Canada thought they were valid. I'm going to put a bit more faith in them than persistent whiners who don't even know the details.
FWIW, I'm not exactly a fan of foreign interference (though there are many things higher on my list of 'injustices' in this world).
