I know that the US open loves the idea of guys struggling like crazy to make par. But for my money a tournament like this was awesome. The Conditions allowed the players who made shots to still score low, and entertain the likes of us with shots that the casual golfer can only dream of. But the false fronts are still there where if a player missed a spot, he could still put up a high number.

I find it far more entertaining as a fan when the players can go on offence and attack the course trying to score. The US open where they play defence and try to prevent mistakes is boring as hell, even if it's a legitimate test of the players.
