Holy crap! don't even think about eating those Costco, Safeway, Superstore, salmon raw. My mom's friend did that and she got a tape worm and has been sick for over 2 years now. Crazy!
All sushi and sashimi have to be frozen to -40 to kill all the parasites.
For our sushi parties we have once a year we buy a big ass salmon from City Fish in the NE. they wholesale to all the sushi places. $6/lb if you want it deboned. It is sooo awesome! usually a salmon is between 10-18 lbs. Thats a hell of alot of sashimi.
