Get a grip. I have a dog (adopted from the pound). I have a cat (adopted from the pound mere hours before it was to be put to sleep) . I have a daughter. I also provide money for 5 underpriviledged children overseas.
The fact is, unless one is happy in their own life they will not spend the time and money making other people happy. If pets or other frivolous items bring that joy to someone so they can give more of themselves how the heck is that a bad thing?
