Yup I figured this was the case, didn’t know it was that bad tho. He’s been getting a pass for how well they’ve done domestically but he hasn’t been able to succeed in the CL without Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and Co. You can’t take all the credit away from Pep, but those teams could coach themselves. The De Bruyne decision blows my mind really, why play him vs Brighton and not just save him for at least 70 minutes in the CL quarters. I can understand going with Aguero, but that’s another guy whose coming off an injury and is notoriously bad in knockout tournaments. I think Aguero is a tremendous player, but holy hell has he sucked ass for both City and Argentina in knockout phases. He turns invisible.
Imo he should’ve kept Jesus in and went with De Bruyne over Fernandinho.
