Wow. Amazing.

#1 - I would like to thank those that posted in this thread and the two CP members who PMed me with information relating to PET INSURANCE. I read the PMs before the thread and when someone said the thread went all sideways I was puzzled as to how a thread about PET INSURANCE could be contentious.

#2 - I thought this thread was HILARIOUS!!! Mostly because I was ripped a new one just a month ago for saying that modern Christmas/Santa was about people wasting money on material goods when the resources would be better spent on helping those less fortunate. All of my family celebrate Christmas except me; instead I asked all family members to donate money to the food bank in my name (and for the second year running, my family has donated over $300).

#3 - I am an athiest vegetarian (almost vegan, but cheese is a necessary ingredient for a good pizza). I don't know what that has to do with the price of tea in China, but apparently that is important information for this conversation.

#4 - Julien and Mispa are my foster children in Cameroon via Canada Foster Parents Plan. I don't own an SUV, nor even a car; I prefer public transportation - less pollution and I save money. I don't have a cell phone either, but if Apple release an iPhone I may. What was the other thing? A house? No, I don't have one yet. Wish I did.

#5 - Is pet ownership a frivilous waste of money? Perhaps it is. But we all spend some money on things that we enjoy. I enjoy settling in to a good hockey game with a drink and a bag of chips and a cat nestled on the arm of the chair, purring away (though she does hate when the Devils or Flames score as the yell and fist pump scares her). If we frivilously waste ALL of our money and we have lots to spare for those less fortunate, then yes there is a problem.

#6 - I think from this thread and the aforementioned Christmas thread, maybe Claeren, myself and other non Christians may want to take one line from scripture to heart and let those who have not sinned throwed the first stone.
