Everyone aims for the cross bar when you're just casually shooting on the net. That and like I said these were AJHL Calgary Royals who usually act like hot shots out there, I've nearly been pegged by them shooting at the freaking boards in the past when i'm skating by.

Just like I almost got nailed minutes before thinking they were just doing passing around but they were really trying one timers, and i've watched them in the past nearly taking people's heads off with head high dish passes in a game full of inexperienced players, if you can't skate well enough to get out of the ways or have bad reaction time those suckers will clock you.

I had zero intention for the puck to hit the guy and it's not like the angle of my shot had him in my sights, nobody was behind the net, it was all clear for me to shoot, in fact his buddies gave me the go ahead to take a turn on net. It was just a fluke bounce off the bar.

For all the times i've seen these Royals kids out with trick passes that nearly clock random people I feel less and less bad about it. Maybe they'll keep their passes low in the future. I doubt it though, but I'm going to be more careful, even though I was extremely cautious anyways, Unless I see that everyone know's i'm shooting I'll hold off, but I can't be responsible for morons and going in the corner behind the goal line even though you think it's safe, all it takes is a fluke shot like this to clock you.

Something like this actually makes me question just how safe shinny really is, I'm tempted to wear my helmet and visor next time out.

I don't think it's my fault or his fault, **** like this just happens in Hockey and I understand why he would be ****ed, and he was understanding about it when I went to check on him in the change room.

One thing that I see is common with most shinny players and should be stopped, is a person sticking their stick out as to try and block a shot from happening. What seems to be common when this happens though is the player is just casually sticking their stick out while still holding their body and head away; with this, their stick is moreso making a ramp for a puck than anything.
I've seen many people nailed because of this.
Shinny shots should be kept low (under a foot).
Yeah I agree, I've seen this happen alot but for me when there's a game on unless i'm on a breakaway or something I usually just pass it around and I usually look for the really young kids and let them have a go, or play D. I go out for the skate more than anything else.

Anyone else get annoyed with hot shot's who give'r like the Cup's on the line pretty much bowling over other people unless people don't move out of their way? I mean take it easy, pass to more than your 1 buddy on a team of 5, I'm almost tempted to just play random rec center ice times with full gear because at least there's some structure involved.
