He's a pretty one-dimensional player who had a bad year last year. The Bears were unlikely to re-sign him after 2019, so this way they at least get something for him. That said, you'd have to think the comp pick they would have gotten for him next year would be better than what the Eagles traded for him and it wouldn't shock me at all to see the Eagles let him walk next year for a comp pick because that's been their front office strategy for a few years now.
