I was just playing some shinny tonite, and a couple guys who were Calgary Royals were shooting around. When people just shoot around I stay clear of the goal line and keep my head up. Anyways, I took a shot trying to bank it off the cross bar, I hit the bar but the puck richochet's off to the side and into the air, I yell Heads up, watch out! but the puck nails the guy. It was a pretty freak bounce in fact I didn't know it even hit the guy.

I go up to him and ask if it hit him... there some blood dripping from his forehead so obviously it did, of course naturally I feel like **** and appologize... He seemed ****ed off at me and I don't blame him because it had to hurt like hell.

Anyways, what can you do in this situation? Complete freak accident that leaves you feeling guilty as **** even though I had no control of where the puck was going after it hit the crossbar.

But the more I think about it, the more ****ed off I am... Why should I feel guilty about it? If he kept his head up and didn't stand behind the goal line, or if he wasn't too pre-occupied dangling between his legs with his head down he wouldn't be at risk for getting nailed in the head... It's not like I have the force and can move a puck that just hit the crossbar in mid air out of the way...

When I skated in to shoot, the area was clear... I'm actually really careful about this stuff.

Note to all Shinny Players: KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AT ALL TIMES! I don't care if you're a Midget AAA player or a noob, you aren't invincible on a rink filled with 15 people each shooting on net.

and if somehow the guy I nailed reads CP... My appologies again... **** happens...
