In fact, the 2012-2013 Blackhawks would be similar in the sense that Crawford wasn't a proven starter, and they rotated between him and Ray Emery.
Emery was the veteran, and had better numbers, but Quinneville went with the future.
Could Rittich = Crawford, and Smith = Emery? I dunno.
The parallel isn't perfect as Rittich has a personality, and is fun to watch.

The parallel is definitely not perfect, as both Crawford and Emery were spectacular that year. While Emery was 17-1 that year, there was no doubt that Crawford was #1 and would be the playoff starter.
