What I don't understand is the whole lack of empathy from the belt when Inaros drops the rocks and so many die. How is it that Belters in general justify the massacre of billions to correct a problem with Belt economics and corporate greed. This is not even counting the supply issues and threat something like this poses to belter livelihoods in general because of sudden collapse of supplies, buyers for their products, etc.

I viewed most Belters response to that in for so long they've had either Earth or Mars's boot on their necks that they probably don't even really think of them as fellow humans. Plus you have the separation of so much distance from what happened, it's just stuff on a screen to them and a charismatic leader like Marcos telling them how this is the beginning of their golden age and whatnot. Belters already live on that fine line between life and death, most probably figured "Now Earthlings will learn what it is like for us." and carried on with their lives.
