Saw Captain Marvel today.

I quite enjoyed it all the way through. Of the origin stories it was behind Black Panther and Iron man better than Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Strange, and Ant-Man.

A solid, fun self contained movie that also will work into endgame

I loved the Nick Fury back story. The cat taking out his eye was hilarious. The deaging on him was really well done. Early Colson was great too though the CGI on him was funny looking.

The only thing I would have taken out was the whole Ronin destroy earth plot. It wasn’t really necessary as the small stakes of this movie were enough. And his attack was repelled easily. Saving how powerful Marvel is for endgame I think would have been better. It also led to the worst CGI moment of her standing in space with her hair blowing.

The lead Skrull was fantastic with the dry humour.
Jude Law was a solid Villian for a low stakes movie.

The problem with future Captain Marvel movies will be power creep. Hopefully this won’t be an issue for Endgame as Thanos suffers from the same issue but Marvel vs Kree won’t have a chance.

Also anyone commenting on the whole feminist stuff was looking for it and to be disappointed by it. You maybe had the few flashbacks and the last line to Jude law that you could construe as feminist agenda but really no different than Captain America being small in his first movie and certainly not a distraction.

Overall one of the better origin stories
