Mind you, 4 of the last 5 wins came against Vancouver (x2), Florida, and the lowly Edmonton Oilers. But they did beat the Jets as well, so there's that.
The Coyotes are behind Minnesota by 1 point and Dallas by 2 points for either of the wild card spots. They're playing some pretty strong hockey at the right time of year and neither of Minny or Dallas look that great these days.
I think it's a very strong possibility that they make the playoffs this year. Looking at that roster, that's a Herculean effort by Rick Tocchet and his staff to get this sort of performance out of those players. Hell, Brad Richardson had a 4 goal game last night and now has 16 goals on the year.
Brad. Richardson.
Their top scorer has all of 41 points. Raanta has only played 12 games due to injury. Other key injured players out for pretty much the entire year: Demers, Grabner, and Schmaltz. That's a lot of key talent out for a team that didn't have much to begin with.
I guess I'm sort of in awe of their ability to win games. They should be in the same territory as Ottawa, but due to a weak West, they have a chance to get a few playoff games. I'm under no illusion that they actually do anything in the playoffs should they get there, but it's a nice story nonetheless.

Yotes have 2nd easiest schedule in the league down the stretch, behind only Flames.
Would love to see them stay red hot and grab a wild card, or even bounce Vegas down to wildcard. Yeah, it's probably unlikely, but only 6 back with 1 game in hand and get the Knights 1 more time this season.
What would really be great would be to see Vegas fall right out of playoffs.
Regardless, not concerned about any first round matchup for the Flames.
