Blues take the Avs for second straight night
Playing their 4th game in 4th night, and the second of home and home with the Avs, the BLues came up with a 5-4 win. The Avalanche, 2nd ranked team in CPHL before the home and home, lost both games to the Blues which started backup Steve Shields in the game.
The story of the game was Denis Gauthier intentionally injuring Steve Schields late in the 3rd by doing his best impersonation of Ville in the playoffs.
"We cannot tolerate that kind of behaviour. Thats unacceptable." the Blues coach said after the game.
Mathieu Dandenault lately critisized for his defensive play led the way with a +4 rating. On the scoresheet, Petr Cejanek had a goal and 2 assist. Also scoring for the Blues were Kallio(1) Linden (3) Zetterberg (8) Hecht (3).
The Blues special teams were not so special going 0 for 4 on the PP, and surrendering 4, yes FOUR goals when the Avs were a man up, but they got one by Hecht while a man down.
Next up: Blues fly to Calgary to face the flames tommorow.
