I think he has a point. If the Flames get sucked into physical games against SJ or Vegas, I don't think the Flames win that. Of course, they should be able to force those teams into playing their style, and in that case, only SJ still scares me.
One more top 6 forward with some size and grit (and can mostly keep up) would make a big difference, but the opportunity cost can't be ridiculous, since the window is just opening, and there's no need to go all in yet. I like Simmonds if the cost is a 2nd and 3rd or two conditional thirds that become 2nds if the Flames win a couple rounds or re-sign him.
