How are they mutually exclusive?
Ottawa would be smart to try and re-sign Stone while also talking trade with other teams at the same time.
We've heard from multiple sources the Flames are only interested if they can either sign him immediately or at least have the knowledge they'll be able to (IE: talk to Stone and his agent). With that info, we continue to hear Calgary in heavy pursuit.
