"If the Senators go the trade route with Stone, and appears to be the most likely scenario, there no shortage of interest. There’s no question the Winnipeg Jets have made him their No. 1 target while the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights.
It’s believed the Senators want a first-round pick along with two strong assets in return for Stone. Naturally, there would likely be another conditional pick that would depend on either how far the team goes in the post-season or, perhaps, if he’s re-signed by the team that acquires him.
Given the situation, it’s likely Stone will go down to the wire Monday unless somebody steps up to get the deal done Sunday. A league source suggested Friday there’d be as many as eight teams in the playoff race that would be serious competition to try to get Stone.
The pressure on the Senators doesn’t really grow until the final few hours heading into the deadline so if a team really wants Stone then they’ll have to try to step up Sunday to try to make a deal happen earlier."
