Here's the LD depth chart:

Giordano
Hanifin
Valimaki

Flames brass loves Valimaki and he has the makings of a top-pairing guy. Gio and Hanifin aren't going anywhere. Pretty clear Kylington is the odd man out. I'd deal him before I'd move Dube, who is the only legitimate (likely to play in the NHL higher than the fourth line) forward prospect the Flames have.

I'm guessing the meat of any deal for Stone would be Kylington + 2019 1st. The haggling would be over the other assets - a conditional 1st and/or another prospect. Not sure why Ottawa would do Flames a favour by taking Frolik, or why Frolik wouldn't put Ottawa on his 10-team no trade list.

A couple possibilities..

They are going to be a YOUNG team next year so they would want a vet guy to come in of some sort and they still have to hit the salary floor...plus someone has to play there.

But I agree Ottawa is likely one of the top 2 names on his list.
