I predict no major trades for the Flames, its not Treliving's style, he tends to make big moves in the summer and is very patient. I don't remember a major trade at the deadline since he started, albeit the Flames are higher in the standings but there is certainly no need to panic, the team needs to collect more young players.
Tampa Bay is a good example, in all those years of being close, they never made a big trade until the move for Ryan McDonagh last year. If anything they traded players like Martin St. Louis and Drouin for younger assets, all this while they were still competitive and playing in the playoffs.
These comments about "blowing another year of the core" are ridiculas. Tampa wilted until Stamkos and Kutcherov were into their third contracts and kept adding players like Brayden Point.
