They take a position that confirms their pre-existing biases, those positions get shown to be false, and then they double and triple down in the face of mounting evidence. Just an extreme lack of critical thinking faculties that they'll be doing their best to pass on to kids working their way to adulthood. When you add on the hateful bent to all their rhetoric it becomes even more disturbing.
